Our host, Hien, went above and beyond to make our stay at Halo Bay Homestay unforgettable. She welcomed us with open arms and took the time to show us the best local spots for food and drinks. We even went on a complimentary tour of Ha Long, exploring markets and temples. It truly felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend this hidden gem for a non-touristic experience.

Comforts such as air conditioning: The room was so cool and refreshing, it felt like stepping into a freezer on a hot summer day! I could sleep peacefully without any worries of sweating through the night.
No nearby restaurants: The hotel is quite secluded and there were no other nearby restaurants except for Kentucky Fried.

The guestrooms at Halo Bay Homestay are so cozy with air conditioning, making it super comfortable for a good night's sleep. Late night room service and free WiFi are great amenities that make life easier when staying at this place. The shared bathroom with a shower and hairdryer is convenient and clean. The quadruple room has an electric kettle, which is perfect for making a quick cup of tea or coffee. The twin room offers a beautiful mountain view, adding a touch of serenity to your stay. The private bathrooms come with complimentary toiletries, a nice touch for guests. The double room is equipped with kitchenware, allowing you to prepare simple meals if needed.
Personally, I wished the double room had more kitchenware options.

The dorm room was beautifully decorated with pine wood bed frames, creating a pleasant scent. the owner was friendly, spoke fantastic English, and offered a true homestay experience by inviting guests to have dinner with their family. Filtered water was available on site and the breakfast options, including vegan-friendly fruit and bread with jam, were better than most places. Near shops and supermarkets, with plenty of local restaurants and bars within walking distance.
Felt very welcome, nothing to complain about.

This homestay is the perfect place to stay in town! It has a relaxed atmosphere and is very clean. the owner and her family are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making you feel right at home. the location is great, within walking distance to the scenic view over the bay. the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious.
The rooms are not soundproof, so noise from other guests can be a bit bothersome.

Hien and her family welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like part of their own. The homestay itself was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The rooms were cozy, comfortable, and provided the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights of our stay was the traditional dinner experience with Hien and her family. The food was outstanding, and we enjoyed engaging in cultural conversations while sipping on delicious rice wine. It truly felt like a home away from home, where we could share experiences, learn about Vietnamese lifestyle and culture, and make new friends. If you're looking for an authentic and enriching experience, Halo Bay Homestay is an absolute must!
For families with children, it would be great to have some entertainment options, such as board games or a play area, to keep the little ones engaged during downtime.

This place has it all! A restaurant, bar, lounge, kitchen, garden. So many amenities, I felt like I was living in a luxury resort. The location was great too.
Who needs clean shelves or a decent fishing tour when you can enjoy the lovely scent of other people's belongings and dine on tiny burned fish without plates or cutlery? Such a delight.

We had a fantastic stay at this homestay. It felt like staying in an actual home. The home was beautiful, clean, and the rooms were fantastic and comfortable. The owners were beyond friendly and helpful, making our experience even better. They provided delicious breakfast and dinner, with the host making an incredible dinner for us. The hosts made it easy to book the boat tour and taxis, and even provided transportation to a few places. The location was very close to everything we needed and the bay was easily accessible.
Everything was spot on.

Halo Bay Homestay's location was perfect as it allowed me to easily explore the stunning Cot dong ho landmark. I chose this hotel specifically for its proximity to the landmark, but I was pleasantly surprised by the featured amenities such as dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. The complimentary wireless Internet access was also a great addition, ensuring I was always connected during my stay. Moreover, I thoroughly enjoyed my appetite at the guesthouse's restaurant, which served delicious lunch and dinner options. The à la carte and continental breakfast choices were also a delightful start to each morning. Lastly, the guesthouse's bar/lounge and snack bar/deli provided convenient options for enjoying snacks and drinks throughout the day.
The room at Halo Bay Homestay was not prepared for guests at all. The cupboard and shelves were all filled with private belongings, leaving no space for us to put our own stuff.
